Attenuated Isolate Gibellulopsis nigrescens Vn-1 Enhances Resistance against Verticillium dahliae in Potato

چکیده
Potatoes are among the four most important staple crops worldwide. Verticillium wilt in potatoes caused by dahliae is a devastating disease that difficult to control. To identify potential avenues for control, pathogenicity of 72 V. isolates was tested here. We also resistance virulent isolate (Vd-36) induced attenuated Gibellulopsis nigrescens Vn-1 potatoes. Induction strongest when using inoculate with spore suspension concentration 1 × 106 conidia mL?1, followed infection Vd-36 at 5 d intervals. After incubation Vd-36, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were produced accumulated potato leaves 12 h post-inoculation. The changes respective defense enzymes, except phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, consistent ROS H2O2 levels. Furthermore, content salicylic acid (SA) inoculated plants higher than biosynthesis-related genes StNPR1, StPR1b, StPR2, StPR5 activated. However, there no significant difference jasmonic ethylene (JA/ET) between treatment control groups. These results demonstrated enhanced inducing SA signalling pathway weakly activating JA/ET pathways

Companion cropping with potato onion enhances the disease resistance of tomato against Verticillium dahliae
Intercropping could alleviate soil-borne diseases, however, few studies focused on the immunity of the host plant induced by the interspecific interactions. To test whether or not intercropping could enhance the disease resistance of host plant, we investigated the effect of companion cropping with potato onion on tomato Verticillium wilt caused by Verticillium dahliae (V. dahliae). To investig...
متن کاملMechanism of Photosynthesis Decrease by Verticillium dahliae in Potato.
Young, visually symptomless leaves from potato (Solanum tuberosum) plants infected with Verticillium dahliae exhibited reduced carbon assimilation rate, stomatal conductance, and intercellular CO(2), but no increase in dark respiration, no change in the relationship between carbon assimilation rate versus intercellular CO(2), and no change in light use efficiency when intercellular CO(2) was he...
متن کاملEvaluation of strawberry cultivars for resistance to Verticillium dahliae Kleb
Verticillium dahlia Kleb. is a soil-borne pathogen which causes worldwide economically important plant and yield losses. So far no resistance preventing the fungus from growing in the plants could be found in the genus Fragaria. But there are cultivars with different levels of tolerance. In particular after the ban on chemical control with effective soil disinfectants (methylbromid) cultivation...
متن کاملThe Innate Immune Signaling System as a Regulator of Disease Resistance and Induced Systemic Resistance Activity Against Verticillium dahliae.
In the last decades, the plant innate immune responses against pathogens have been extensively studied, while biocontrol interactions between soilborne fungal pathogens and their hosts have received much less attention. Treatment of Arabidopsis thaliana with the nonpathogenic bacterium Paenibacillus alvei K165 was shown previously to protect against Verticillium dahliae by triggering induced sy...
